ZX Aerial Lead

I have just upgraded my stereo and am having a problem with radio reception. The connector at the end of the aerial lead [the bit which plugs into the stereo] I believe is faulty. The pin in the center is loose and can be removed easily by hand. Is it possible to fix this connector, will gluing it in position taking care to maintain contact work? if not how difficult is it to replace the lower aerial lead and does this have to be original equipment?
