Peugeot 206 Rear Wheel Slant

Post by scrappy »

Ive noticed that my rear passenger wheel is slanting outwards slightly even though my wheel is firmly attached to the drum, having asked peugeot to have a look they advised me it was gonna cost me £75 just for them to take a look at it, and nowt comes off the repair costs either :(
So i thought id post here to see if anyone has any idea what the problem is and what it may cost...
Any help would be appreciated.

i take it the car hasnt had an accident?
if not it sounds like the axle bearings are starting to wear prematurely!
i would guess at about £200 to fix.

I think this is an urgent matter. Please have these bearings checked before the axle is damaged.. Else you'll have to replace the complete Cross member and it will be around 6 times more.
I've already gone through this mess with my P 106. And had to pay Rs 6,500 instead of Rs 2,000 for the bearing only. 6,500 Mauritian Roupies was for the Cross member because the axle worned out. And please note that for Rs 6,500 roupies I had a second hand cross member. If you can't get a second hand one, this will be really expensive.
Please treat it as urgent.
