hi, all anybody tell me what is the function of the knock sensor on the 2ltre 16 valve .it tells you it there in the haynes book of lies ,,but not what it purpose is...cheers..moz

it senses when the engine is starting to "pink".
it will be bolted to the engine block,usually just below the inlet manifold.
