Clutch 'Jerk'

Post by Gotta New Pug »

Hello, i've had a problem with my car since I got it around a year ago now, but have been too lazy to get it sorted out - but anyway, when I accelerate from standing in first gear, I always get a heavy 'bite' on my clutch causing the car to jolt forward as though i'm letting the clutch go fully straight away - even when I let the clutch out very slowly it jerks a little, I got told by a friend that it could be because the clutch was new and not yet fully worn in but surely after a year it would be now? Car is a 406 GLX manual 2.0 16v 'P' reg.
Any help please would be priceles to me!!!
Thanks in advance

does the clutch make any noise? IE if you have thecar idling does the noise change much if you dip the clutch?
Could be a thrust bearing fault.

Nah no noises at all - everything sounds in tip top shape considering the car has done 125k miles now :-)
