internal display/brakes

Hello all
RXE 2.0 auto L reg
1 - the displays for the trip computer & time/temp do not illuminate EXCEPT when i turn the side/headlight on? The mileage display does not show even then?
2-I have a really squeaky off side rear brake.When i apply the brake it stops but makes a hell of noise when driving. Going over bumps/round corners etc diminishes the noise but not entirely.
any help greatly appreciated.

sounds like the bulb has blown in the display,cheap fix.
brakes just need cleaning and adjusting by the sound of it.
