Hello
I've got four questions
1- there is a pipe coming from under the fuel filter housing connected to air intake pipe by a small drum thing just after the air filter. what is that pipe and drum for??
2- there is plug right over the oil filter is it some sort of sensor??
3- where is the rev meter gets the reading from and where is it connected?
4- if I am not wrong the turbo diesel engines in xantia and peugeot 306 and 405 is same, so why xantias sound much smoother? and pugs are bit more noisy?
first 3 questions are about xantia turbo diesel.
thanx alot

The first two I cant help you with, but (3) the rev counter is driven by the top dead centre sensor located on the n/s end of the cylinder head just above the gearbox bellhousing.
(4) Yes you are correct they are the same engine, but the xantia is somewhat heavier than the pug and therefore soaks up vibraion and noise better, it could also be that the insulation is better on the Citroen.
