C5 Dash Removal
Hello ! Anyone out there know how to safely remove the plastic facia housing the radio/heater controls etc. as I need to replace the ashtray open/close mechanism without damaging anything. Saw one at the breakers yesterday off the car, and it looks like a typical plastic tab locking part. Don't want to start jamming screwdrivers into the dash before I know what to expect, or will that be Citroen special tool no. IFUBREAKIT-999LBS ??

There are 4 screws hidden holding it in place, plus the plastic clips.

I'm not sure if the radio has to come out but it should be obvious once you remove the plastic trim bits that sit either side of it. By the looks of it you'll have to remove the trim from around the gear lever to get at the bottom two screws, but the plastic tray in front of the gearknob is separate and clipped into place and you may be able to access the screws by removing it.
