A slighty blowing exhaust, led me to send my Activa back to the garage (Haa Haa) that had recently done some work on the engine. I was told that the exhaust had split due to a defective engine mounting and they pointed to the big cotton reel bush on the inner wing, saying it had split.
I have had a rattle on the exhaust which appeared recently on over-run and sounded like the front down pipe touching the front sub-frame.
A crawl under the car confirmed the closeness of the downpipe, the split exhaust and an oil soaked lower engine mount.
Has any other Activa owner had a similar problem? If yes, what was the cure? My regular parts supplier, Malcolm said that all the mountings could be tired on 130K miles. He also owns an Activa!
Another of our Activas has the same rattle but I have not had a crawl under that one yet. It has a similar mileage.
