xsara est rear wiper

rear wiper not working,checked the fuse,ok
can't hear the relay operating,does any one know which relay it is,
and how can i check the column switch,the front wiper is working ok

HI tom c
I have a xantia that had this kind of problem,and i traced it to the relay on the wiper housing ( mine is also an estate )and I ended up shorting out 2 of the terminals on the housing untill I visit a scrapy.
A relay is only a switch and you cannot do to much damage experimenting.From memory I used a bit of 1.5 single core cable to go between opposite sides of the housing,and the only problem I have now is that I need to time my blade parking as I no longer have the function which does it automaticly

found problem to be three broken wires between the hatch and the body,
