ZX Heater Panel Lights

Post by CITMAN »

I have a Citroen ZX 1.4i. today I have attempted to change the heater panel lights which have all failed. i followed thw haynes manual to the later. However I cannot find the bulb holders at all. I phoned a citroen specialist who waid that it wasnt posible to do this using the haynes procedure, but I would have to take out the center console etc.
Is their an easier way to do this without it costing to much, becuase I have been quoted 1hour 30minutes do the job.

I have changed all my dash bulbs at some stage. Follow the haynes directions on page 11.19 when you have the 'box' containing the heater control switches free prise it open. The bulbs should be visible inside.I think this is correct its been a while since i last did these but it shouldn't take that long.

I don't own a Haynes manual (aren't they they work of the devil?)
So:
You need to remove
1) Radio
2) Top dash vents
3) Ashtray ( and the screw behind it)
4) Centre console (if fitted)
5) Side heater vents that supply heat either side of foorwell.
Once dismantled, as Volcane305 says, gently prise the control unit apart to change the pesky bulbs. If you can wait a bit, I'm going to do the same job soon so I will gibe more detailed instructions, and add to "Common problems and Fixes".

About 1.5 hours is right - I already talked about this several times - You might want to do a search on posts I've made. I haven't time to do the serch for you!
The order Jon mentioned above is about right, off the top of my head.
Jon - Feel free to use my previous posts as a reference or to blatently copy from it!
