Extended Header Tank !!

Post by steviewonder7 »

Hi Folks,
Had to renew the Radiator over the weekend, didnt realise how bad a condition it was in until I removed it.Was not too bad a job to do,the only problem I came across was finding a contraption/bottle to adapt to the header tank when it came to bleeding the 'dam b*****'.I searched high and low for the correct thing to fit ,scoured this forum for ideas and finally came up a funnel inserted into an 8"(in length) piece of rubber hose (off a ford capri 3.0L power steering system) with a piece of 'marigold glove' to help seal the hose to the header tank.It worked a treat and bled the system as per manual.

I was going have a go at getting it on the road, but it needs new sils and one or two other things
doing to it.I bought when I was single and had more time on my hands, but thats changed and I will need to empty my garage of it soon(need the space).Shame really.Got plenty of spares to go with it.
