xantia activa clutch

Unread post by jackherer »

hi,
I've bought an activa as a temporary replacement for my xantia v6 while some work is done on it and there are a couple of issues I would like to sort out. The first is the clutch, the biting point is very high, and I gather the pedal is connected via an hydraulic linkage that is sealed and non adjustable. So does this mean the clutch is very worn? It doesnt slip even when provoked so I'm not keen on changing it but I might if this is the only solution.
cheers,
Kieran

If its hydraulic it should be self adjusting, if it doesn't slip and has some free movement I would guess that its supposed to be like that.

The normal 2.0 uses the same pull clutch as the TD. It's quite possible the Activa uses the same one as well. Biting point at the top of the pedal indicates it's on its last legs, but if you can't make it slip, and it's not really heavy (which can lead to breaking the plastic clip on the pedal, replacement of which is 'interesting') I'd just live with it.

Nope, the Activa (2.0 Turbo CT engine) uses the hydraulic clutch as found on the HDi and V6.
The question is, is it slipping? If not I wouldn't worry, they do feel as if they bite rather high.

C'mon guys,
there's definatly going to be an adjuster there somewhere... I've seen an old Mini with a hydraulic clutch, and there is a 'resting' pin to prevent the slave cylinder withdrawing to far (requiring you to push the pedal to far).

What ?
There's a manual version of the V6 ? Or was that a slip of the fingers [:D]

Errrmmmmmmm.........
Wishful thinking on my part. I think the Pug manual V6s use the same setup though.

Wasn't the Activa available in V6 manual abroad?
