activa ram bush replacment

Ive tried (in vain) to change my rear active ram bush today but had to give up because the ram was 'springy' even though I had depressurised the hydraulic system even lifting the car body did not help. what have i done wrong or what havent done? any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
there is a separate circuit for the Activa system that must by depressurised by undoing a nipple-type thing above the Activa sphere in the centre of the rear of the car.

would not taking the rear sphere off do the same thing. By the way, I thought about this job ages ago and came across an interesting site where a guy gave an account of how to do the job. Thing to look out for is that the bush is tappered and you will need a gee clamp to squeeze it in - I can't remeber the source but google it. Let us know how you get on, you're a brave man! I just put up with the infernal racket.
