xantia mark2 plip

Hi,
Here`s a poser for you my plip on my xantia will not unlock/lock the doors but will still start the car so that would rule out the plip battery or would a flat plip battery still enable me to start the car?

I may be wrong but I think the batteries are only for remote c/l and alarm setting whereas the key has some form of chip that is recognised by the ecu for allowing starting.

yeh the key uses a transponder code (I know all about these!! lol), as bernie says its probably a flat set of batterys. Can't remember if the mk2 key still has a red led on it?? If it does ckeck to see if that is coming on when the button is pressed.
You'll need CR2025 batterys for the remote.
