Laguna mk1, headlights control lamp

Unread post by mire »

I have an interesting problem on my laguna. When I turn on the headlights, the control lamp on the dashboard doesn't light up. Actually, it sometimes does, and when it does it stays on untill the lights are turned off. Next time when I turn the lights on, I never know if I will see the green light on the dashboard again, but the chances for seeing it are really low. The main lights control lamp (blue) is working properly.
Does anyone have an idea what to do? Should I check the lamp, or maybe something else like relay or the light switch?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if I have used the wrong terms, english is not my native language. :)

Whack the dashboard!! I had this problem and eventually (thought I might actually break the dashboard if I hit it anymore!) took the dashboard to pieces and replaced the lamp that shows the lights are on. It took me about 20 mins to do!! Good luck..

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought that I would have to take the dashboard out and change the lamp or maybe just clean the contacts, but I was hoping that there is some easier way to fix this. :) The problem is not too important (a lot of new cars don't have this lamp at all) but it's just bugging me so I think I will fix it soon.
