Xantia stereo codes!

Unread post by turbo201 »

Hi
I disconnected my battery last week and then went to put in the stereo code.Unfortunately,I forgot which button to press after entering the four digits.
I tried them all(big mistake)and now I have nothing but four little lines on the screen.
Does anyone know a way to get it to ask for the code again?
Thanks!

If it's a Blaupunkt leave it switched on until the display reads 'CODE' again. This may take an hour, hour and a half, something like that.

I think it must be Blaupunkt as the multi-changer is supposedly a factory unit and that certainly is BP!
I did leave it on while driving for over an hour the other day and it didn't return to normal
Maybe I'll go and leave it on all afternoon and see what happens
Thanks for your help!

Press the Band button for at least five seconds. It should reset the CODE request on the display.

I just went down and tried the band thing.
It has 2 band buttons, one for FM and the other for LW/MW.
Tried them both for 10 seconds plus, and nothing.Tried them together and no change.
This is doing my head in now.[:(!]

The answers will vary depending on the model of your radio. But don't worry, you'll fix it eventually.
Click the search button at the top right of the screen and enter the words radio code into the box. You'll only get about 12 pages of suggestions, but it's in there somewhere.
Can you tell us what your car's model, specification and year are? It might help us to narrow it down a bit.

The best thing to do is leave the keys in the ignition (as long as its safe to do so) in the 1st position (just the battery light on the instrument panel) and after around 45mins the 'CODE' request will appear on the LCD.
Once you enter the digits of the code, normally you press the '6' to enter it. Good luck.

OK,Looks like the leave for an hour and a half job worked.
Went out there and it's now asking for the code again.(Well done Splat)
I still don't know what to press after entering the code and more annoyingly, can't find my handbook.
So,it is a 97 Activa that we're talking about.

Hi again,
I've now tried again and entered "6" and it locks me out again.
I'm now wondering if the stereo was changed under warranty or something and I only have the code from the original set.
If I enter the code then press "6",surely there is no other reason for it not to work.
What do you think?

Thanks for the input guys!
I looked through all the paperwork last night and found that the stereo had been changed and it had another code.
This morning bought music and joy again!!
Cheers!
