ZX engine replacement XUD9TE

Hello,
I'm considering replacing a ZX DT engine (D8A)-head gasket gone again. Are other marque XUD9TEs also suitable, eg Pug 306 BE3-5 unit? Is it the ancilliaries & mountings that make the difference or do the block/heads etc differ?

I think that all the XUD engines are basically the same, providing they are of the same year/type, but the anciliaries are different for each application.

BE3-5 is a gearbox type not an engine! The older 306's also used the D8A engine. [:)]

Thanks for confirming what I thought.
RossD, thanks for putting me straight on the gearbox issue -
I'm not at all familiar with Pugs so took the info from the Andyspares data sheets. Just revisted them & the field for Peugeot is Engine/Gearbox, while the Citroen is engine only.
