XM windscreen washers

Unread post by Jade Falcon »

Is there an easy way to adjust the angle of the windscreen washers on an XM?
The drivers one is fine and cleans the windscreen ok, but the passengers side seems to be angled in such a way that it will spray slightly to the left. Is there an easy way to adjust the washer spray pattern without damaging the unit?
Thanks

I suppose I could try that, its just odd that the nozzles themselves seem to be under the leading edge of the bonnet rather than on top as is normally done.

The ZX is also under the bonnet, but same principals apply....should be able to sort it just with a pin head

I suppose there's an advantage to the placement of the nozzles, for some reason, on my previous Cavalier someone pulled one of the bonnet mounted nozzles out.

Having washer nozzles under the edge of the bonnet (or on the wiper arm like BX/CX/405) does also mean that they are immune from the boy-racer brigade with their blue LED equipped washer nozzles, which can only be a bonus.

I think they were under the bonnet edge to keep them out of the airflow so that in the winter there was less wind chill and less chance of them icing up, having said that, i think all XM windscreen washers are heated automatically below a certain temperature anyway so they shouldnt suffer that problem

Telecom/alarm cable wire is ideal for tweaking them. Take the outer sheathes off first!
