Doseur, doser valve - What and where is it?

Post by sonvue »

Haynes is very vague on this and I think is even calls it something else. Cann it be flushed out. I have been told it is the source of a pulsating brake pedal. At its worst it used to create a sort of ABS pumping effect under heavy braking. What is the problem and how to fix it?

It's the 'thing' that's operated by the brake pedal. I believe there are some replacement seals available, but usually a fault calls for a replacement unit.

An accumulator sphere that has totally "blown," ruptured, call it what you like, can also show similar symptoms. Check on how often the regulator clicks (from the front) and if it's every couple of seconds or so, chances are it could be the accumulator sphere.
The doseur valve gets the blame for a lot of things that it can be responsible for but lots of times isn't, and it's not all that cheap to buy or simple to replace; not extremely hard, but I could find better ways of spending my time and money if it's not necessary.<img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
