Laguna low rev mis-fire

My 96 Laguna RXE (multipoint fuel injection) misfires under 2000rpm. Above this engine speed it runs well.
Temperature seems high too.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does it have the two coils on the front of the engine? If so these do go faulty. Sorted out mine with a replacement from the local scrap yard.
