If these are being fitted to a ZX as per your profile, then to keep the speedo acurate they should be 185/60 x 14.

Sooty? My ZX had 13x165x70 originally. I changed them for 14x175x65 i.e. bigger wheel, slimmer profile. I thought the 185x60 would be a bit smaller over outside diameter and make the speedo slightly incorrect? (the 185 wont fit the spare wheel cage under the car). [:(!] don't ask.. [:I]

by changing from 175/65/14 to 185/60/14 you are only looking at a .9% overread! that is if there is any accuracy in your speedo to begin with! not really enough to worry about! its only when you add more than an inch to the diameter of the wheel that it makes any real difference!

As Cornishbx says if the proper tyres for your model of ZX is 175/65 x 14 then the nearest tyre size is 185/60 x 14. I've kept my original Spare tyre in the cage which is used for emergencies only.
There are a number of sites that can convert tyre sizes and compare the speedo errors, which in this case the error is only 0.9% which is well within the recommended error of 2.5%.
If you go wider in width, then you may have problems with the tyres rubbing the arches and will have to change the aspect ratio from 60 to something like 55 to keep the error within the limits.
