Tyre question

Post by sponix »

Can anyone tell me what diameter rims are fitted as standard to a Citroen ZX (1995?)
I have been offered some tyres but need make a decision this afternoon and can't get home to check the car until this evening.

Standard ZX i would have thought 14" diameter, as of width i will pass on that one, maybe 5" or 5.5"

Some are 13 inch - certainly 1.4's and I think some diesels. Our 94 (NOV) 1.9D Avantage is 14 inch.

I think the factory that made the ZX used whatever size wheels were in stock at the time! My K reg Avantage had 13 inch steel wheels originally, as does the L reg ZX Avantage 3 doors up the road, (I know because I gave him my old ones) The L reg Aura we had was fitted with 13 inch ally wheels as fitted to most Aura's. All 3 cars have 1.9D engines fitted..
My car holds the road better with 14 inch 175-65 fitted,(Volcane ally's) it had a tendency to 'creep out' on the back end on long curves with the original 13-70-165 tyres..
If you go bigger than 175 the spare wont fit in its cage under the car.. [8)] [:o)] Don't ask! [:I] But it's a good job the Mazda takes 185's [:D] lol.

1.4 petrols are generally 13" whereas the diesels are 14".
