saxo 1.1i

Post by geordie66 »

help! i have a 99T saxo and it has recently started to lose power at random times, usually when the engine has warmed up. It will kangeroo for a couple of seconds, as if it is going to stall, and then after taking my foot off and back on the accelerator it corrects itself. (Not such a good thing if im overtaking at the time).Any ideas what could be causing this?? All suggestions appreciated!

For a start check the air filter is clean. And change the fuel filter. How old arethe plugs? If you don't know, check them. If no improvement ask again.

If it has single point injection, check the resistance of the idle control stepper. This not only adjusts the tickover as you would expect it can also give you the problems you describe. The genuine Bosch part is available from GSF ( think it is about £80) . Main dealer about £130 + vat. I do agree with all of the previous possibilities but your mileage is just right for this problem.
