Clio 1.9D timing belt change

Thinking of getting one of these cars - anyone done a timing bely on one before? Any pointers / particular problems or are they straightforward?

I've got a 19 and a 21 with that engine. The 21 is dead easy, the 19 isn't too bad but a bit tight for space. I expect the Clio will be similar to the 19 for space, not really any worse than any other modern car though.
The Haynes manual tells you to use a special gauge to check the tension but I didn't. Aparently garages rarely use the gauge anyway.
