Would the suspension pump from a 1997 1.9td SX fit a 1994 1.9td LX?

There are several different pumps, I can only say, if it looks the same and the mountings are in the right place, it should work.

And...Make sure that the pulley is the same diameter and uses the same type of belt.

If the '94 is a Xantia with anti sink, it will have the twin output pump and the pump will swap over. Anti-sink Xantia's are the ones with the Citroen logo on the grille, i.e. no chevrons on the bonnet. If the chevrons are on the bonnet, you can still swap the pump over, but there will be a bit more plumbing to do.
Apparently there are only 3 different types of pump on the Xantia, there are the early single outlet pumps, then there are the normal Xantia dual output pumps and finally the special V6 pumps.
