WHINING ON DECELLERATION

Post by poppy »

going from a TD to a 1.8i petrol, i notice when taking foot off at 15-35 sort of speeds, there is a "whine" as the car takes up the overun....unlike the td, which carries on regardless [no engine braking] it comes from g/box or front drivetrain area....its not loud, but noticeable...and a tad annoying......the car is so quiet, i suppose its the only noise it makes so i hear it!!
anyone hear the same? or do you just turn up the radio

Cit gearboxes do tend to be a bit noisy on overrun - probably nothing to worry about[:)]
