Yet another ride height query (Xantia)

Post by mark g »

Hi Everyone.
I have a 1.9 lx d 1994 Xantia. The ride height works as follows-
At the bottom setting in the car the car is on the bumpstops at front and rear.
At the Normal setting the car is at normal front...good, but intermediate rear!
At intermediate setting the car is at intermediate front, but on high setting at rear!
At High setting the car is high at front and back.
Basically can someone let me know what's wrong (the back corrector, links etc have all been well soaked in wd40, to no avail)
I need to know how to adjust it and also what the levels should be eg on normal the wheel top just showing from the side and intermediate 4 inches between wheel and wheel arch etc.
Thanks hopefully

I usually reckon that if the suspension arms are level, the height is about right. To adjust you need to slacken the screw on the clamp on the anti roll bar that is connected to the height corrector, and rotate it round the bar, only a little, while the engine is running but make sure you have plenty of room underneath or the car can come down on top of you!

Thanks for that.
Can I also undo and move the clamp attached to the actual rod that runs under the length of the car to the controller in the car, and move that backwards or forwards, as that seems easier to get to?
Will it give the same effect?
