Is it really that easy?

Post by oscarloco »

I found a copy of the BOL for the ZX. I have to replace my rear dampers and according to the BOL, you just raise the vehicle, compress a little the suspension, remove the bottom bolt of the damper, remove the top one, retrieve the damper from underneath.
Installation is reverse of removal.
Is it this simple or is this just another of the lies in the book?

Never done the job but looks like standard conventional procedure for changing the things.

Unless Homer discovers the damper bushes have corroded themselves onto the mounting bolt - then it's a doh! and out with the angle grinder...
By the way, have you seen the Simpsons episode where Homer changes the oil on Marge's car, with the car supported on a wicker laundry basket?? Nice DIY!
