Peugeot 104

Post by bikeboyz »

I thought I'd share some information CPUK has found out about the remaining 104's on UK Roads.
Well, according to the DVLA:
47,700 were sold in total and 67 remain on the road with a further 140 currently SORN
Model breakdowns (SORN figs in brackets)
S 4 (6)
SR 9 (26)
GL 7 (4)
104 base 7 (4)
ZL 7 (13)
SL 0 (10)
ZR 3 (8)
GR 20 (40)
ZS 3 (7)
I know the owners of two of the road going ZS models! Do you know of any 104's running around or their owners, as they are a very rare car now. If you know of an SL please let us know as there are none on the roads.

How did you find the figures out? A topic of this was touched on on another car, nothing to do with ANDYSPARES/GSF or a PSA car - (Ford Orion mk1) and dvla would not release the numbers on how many were left. How did you get the numbers you jammy bugger [:p] ?

I have not seen a 104 for years now.
I'd be really interested in a similar breakdown for 1.6 and 1.9 205 GTis, not that rare I know but still interesting. I did once hear a tale that there are a lot less 205 GTis left on the road than MGBs and that the number of MGBs still on the road is more or less that of the total number of 205GTis imported into this country.

So then bikeboyz - 2 cars so far for you to find out about - 205 GTI 1.6 and 1.9 and the 83-86 Ford Orion. Some people could fall into poop and come up smelling of fresh flowers.....(only joking) [^].

Aparently there is a guy at DVLA whose job it is to answer these kind of quieries. Our editor for CPUK magazine phoned DVLA. As long as you have a valid reason for requesting the information they will look it up. I guess as he is on the Club Peugeot committee they were happy the information request wasn't wasting their time. I have left him a message back suggesting a full model breakdown for CPUK records. I will see him tomorrow at Prescott Hill Climb so will see what else we can find out.

Well one of 104ZS is here, and I was lucky enough to be hurtled up the hill climb in it a couple of times yesterday. It shifts, 1360cc twin webbers, 505GTi discs, and 80bhp recorded at the front wheels. It was keeping up with the 205GTi lads making a 1.02 stop watch time including carrying a passenger. There is hardly any roll and it sticks like s**t to the road!!
