Retrofitting deadlocks

Post by batwad »

Hi folks.
Does anyone know if it's possible to retrofit deadlocks or how much work would be involved? I'm guessing it's not just a case of replacing the locks, but would need an alarm/ECU update too [?]
The car in question is my 306, BTW.

What 306 are we talking about then? Nearly all but the earliest 306s had deadlocks from the factory.

It's a 2000 HDi. I thought the same as you, but when I took it to Peugeot to find out why they weren't working they told me it was because it doesn't have them. I was a little sceptical at the time, as the managed to figure this out in about ten minutes by repeatedly trying to activate them. Do you know how I could check for certain?

Have you tried locking the car with the key in the door lock?
Turn the key towards the back of the car, Then hold it there for a few seconds, If it has deadlocks then you will hear them kick in.
I would of thought it should have deadlocks fitted.

Yep, I've tried pretty much every combination (including reprogramming the keyfob as described in the handbook) but they don't kick in, hence why I took the last resort and went to Peugeot.
