I need to change the n/s (short) driveshaft on my 2.0 activa 1997.
I can't find one listed at GSF.
Does anyone know if it's the same as the 2.1 td or 110 hdi?
If not, can anyone recommend a good cheap place to buy one? I'm in N.London
Many thanks Pat

Gsf don't stock the part.
They told me to go to Citroen , which I did , but it costs more than 300 pounds!!
The problem with it ,is that the inner boot split, the grease came out and it started to make a very low rumbling sound at speed.
As soon as I realised the boot had split I got it changed, but despite that, it is still making a slight rumbling/grinding sound and I have to travel back to Spain in August and I don't fancy risking it.
Paying £300 is daylight robbery for me!
Nobody except Citroen seems to stock this particular one
Any ideas or contacts?
Cheers Pat

I live in N. London but I am not mechanically minded at all, so splitting it is not an option as I need the car a lot.
I have managed to get a quote of £125 plus vat from LL**ds motor spares which is better than the Cit one, but for me is still a bit on the steep side.
As for GKN ,I doubt if they deal with Joe Public.
I did contact a recon firm in Luton , but so far they haven't been able to locate one!
Are they so rare or hard to get?
Thanks for all your info and help.
I will have to change it sooner than later as I went to Cambridge yesterday about 80 miles and on the way back it was noisier than ever!

pat i have a good one here but the shaft has split in 2 at the gater (i picked it up and the one end fell off! there is nothing wrong with the shaft as it came of a complaetly good activa that everything worked on. you will need to get the grease repacked and the gater either re attacked or replaced. i can take pictures if your interested.
Sorry about the time it took to find it it was in the roof which is lituraly the last place i looked...
