hi have noticed that the primer bulb in the fuel line seems to be sucked in when the engine is running i have checked all the fuel lines for any leaks and everything seems fine is this normal for the primer to look like that

You dont have any leaks.
The problem is in fact the opposite : lack of tank ventilation such the pump sucks hard enough to strangle the bulb ...

A friend of mine had a tank collapse due to that. He ran out of fuel when his guage read 1/4 full because the bottom of the tank was holding the float up! Try releasing your fuel cap when it happens, if it goes 'whoosh' the breather hole in you cap is blocked.

Try the usual; tank vent, wrong fuel cap? It seems to creating a vacuum within the tank? Or you have a blockage within the supply line. When doing the job change the fuel filter.
