Hey all, after 6 months i decided to bite the bullet and get the car professionally repaired. I took it to a Cit/Pug specialist, and he hooked it up to his very sweet looking diag 2000 peugeot machine. Instantly, it found a fault that a non - peugeot diag laptop didnt find. Problem with the Idle control stepper. He instructed the car to move the idle control, what a noise! Changed it over, re-initiated it with the ECU, job done. Well worth £150 in my book. Plus the mechanic (Lloyd) really knew his stuff.
