Hi
Can anyone help me identify a problem with my 1994 Peugeot 405. It started making a strange sound recently. It is a very loud slow ticking noise that seems to be coming from behind the dashboard in the area behind / below the glovebox. It is loudest inside the car, but can still be heard from outside. It only occurs with the ignition on, and does not vary with engine speed or road speed. It is a more or less regular ticking that sometimes misses a beat or two. My initial thought was something to do with fan blower speed, but the ticking does not become faster or slower when I change the fan speed. Does anyone know what is located behind the dashboard that could be causing this problem? The car has aircon so I was wondering if it could be a problem related to that?
thanks in advance
Mike

hi ,
The noise you refer to is to close and open the
(outside air via the micro filter) ventilation duct.
Actually the motor is okay only the plastic gear that
broken. Trust me in order to charge that part; you
need extra effort to dismantle lots of other parts to
gain access to this motor. Another way is make sure
the ventilation is close and just disable the motor by
unplug the connector. So no air access to the cabin.
