306 Rear Lamp Problem

Post by Paul Wilson »

My son's 1996 306 D Turbo has an interesting earth problem with the rear lamp clusters. When the side lights are on and you press the brake pedal, the indicators come on dimly and the side lights themselves dim. I assume it is an earth problem but where are they!!! Can someone point me in the right direction.

Try cleaning the connections where it plugs on the back of the lamps themselves. Never done it on a 306 but I've found that to be the problem on loads of other cars.

Its the earths on to the rear lamp bodys that are the problem, Either give them a good clean up or install a new earth wire from each rear lamp to the cars bodyshell.
