Post by soupy_sam »

I have put the wrong radio code in Once in my Citroen radio and it has locked.
How do I unlock it please?

Wait...........It depends on how many times you have done it.
Each wrong code doubles the length of lockout.

If you know a bit about electronics (or someone who does), you can reset it.
Disconnect the radio from the car, remove the covers and locate the memory backup capacitor. Discharge this with a low value resistor, and you will start again with a clean slate.

Your radio will lock out for a short time only. There are several models and most have to be done differently, what model is yours? I will see if I can help you. If in doubt about the model, tell me where the on/off button is.

If the code word is showing, try this sequence, if it dont work come back to me again.
Lets assume your radio code is 7234. Press the 1 station button until the 7 appears, then on to the second button and press until the 2 appears! when all four numbers are showing as the code press 6 and it should then be OK. If not do not do anyhting else, just switch off.

About that band button. If you've just got the word "Code" showing on the display, you need to press it for at least five seconds. Then it should reset.
