Xsara central locking fault

Post by j0nsmith »

Hi
Anybody out there who can give me any advice with this:
1999 Xsara 1.6 central locking acting a bit strange.
All was working fine until one morning activated the plip all doors apart from drivers door unlocked. I can manually unlocked drivers door and this will activate all other doors, on manually unlocking passenger door, drivers door stays locked.
I have sprayed WD40 into all connectors on all doors but this has not sorted the problem. Lubricated all linkages in drivers door but still no joy.
I was convinced it was the drivers door combined lock and solenoid actuator so I purchased a replacement from Citroen (£42) and fitted it. The new unit was slightly dirrerent to the original, more metal moving parts rather than plastic parts. Also the lock cam moves clockwise as opposed to the original which moves anticlockwise when engaging with the striker plate. After fitting I now find the locks just bounce as if there is a door open. So I have now refitted the original lock.
Anyone got any clues?
