BX DTR wheels

Unread post by nigel.uk »

Hi everybody peeps,
First post of possibly many, so be warned!
I am looking for some nice alloys for my BX,but seem to have encountered a wall of uncertainty. Is it possible to fit 195.50.15's on a 6j rim to my BX? Is there any one who has done this?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Nigel,
If the Bx is a MK2, i.e. 86> then you can run 195/50/15's no problem at all with no mods whatsoever. I have done this myself with a set of the Peugeot 205/309GTi 15 " wheels with no clearence or other problems.I have seen Bx's with 205/50/16's on there, and even 17" wheels; but is necassary sometimes to carefully grind away a little bit of the rear arm to get clearance. You have no such problems running 15" wheels with 195/15/15's, provided that the offset is correct. Any Peugeot wheel from 205, 309, 405 have the correct offset. If you are going for aftermarket alloys tell the wheel shop that you're fitting them on a 309 GTi, or you will get blank stares and claims that "these wheels are not for a BX". <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
