dead xantia

Have xantia td a 97 on a r the keypad has gone dead and the number 2 fuse keeps blowing, r.a.c mnan says remove the rear cover from the pump and by-pass the transponder. But that won't stop the fuse blowing. Can anybody out there help? local rubbishreon garage says the mech-mick who does old cars is on holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!we all need a holiday. Spud

bypas the imobiliser, its been recomended to me in the past too. check for any broken cables in the bay and the no 2 fuse in the engine bay or in the dash?
