'90 405 SRi - AFM to throttle body hose.

Post by paradox »

Drove home yesterday and had serious idle issues, barely maintaing 500-700rpm and really rough.
As soon as I opened up the bonnet I could hear the hissing sound near the airflow meter. The hose/pipe that joints the airflow meter and throttle body has developed a leak/crack around the ribbing close to AFM side.
When squeezed the idle returns to normal and runs fine.
This is a 1905cc XU9J2, 125hp L-Jet L3.1 I think.
Would anyone be able to help me out with the actual name of that particular hose?
Also, is there anyway I can use a temporary solution to get me through the weekend. Somehow minimising the air leak?
Any help appreciated.

Hi
From the description you have given you are after Peugeot part number 1424 J9 & its called a Filter Air Hose.
Ive no idea on how much one is, It may be cheap ( If Peugeot still stock it ) or it may be a trip down the scrapyard for another one.
The GR Injection, SRI & GTX Injection use the XU9J2 lump so hunt for one of those or even check out the other Peugeots & Citroens.
You could tape it up temporary, But dont look at this as a long term fix.
