I have a deisel Peugeot 406 registered in 1996. It has taken me
effortlesly for 150k miles. However, a transmission-like noise has
developed from the passenger side engine compartment. The noise only
occurs at higher speeds 55mph+. I have had the gearbox stripped down, renewed the wheeel barings, camshaft drive belt and water pump. My local garage have test driven the car but cannot offer any solutions.
Has anyone had a similar experience and maybe able to offer some ideas?
