Citaerobics shows lazy backside
Did aerobics today for first time in a while. Small quirk appeared as follows (car is as below)
Up to high-no problem
Down to low-no problem
Up to intermediate-fine
Back to low-fine
BUT..going from low to auto back refuses to rise.
go to intermediate and back comes up only when in inter. Once there it stays.
HOWEVER if after going from low to auto you drive off with back low [:0] it comes up within a few metres and behaves perfectly.
No other problems: all rear height correctors etc sprayed to death with WD40: lever moves freely.
Do I have a problem or is the car just sulking because it is not being used all that much at present? [8)]

Before you dig yourself down into more or less academic problems :
When engine is runing, car in normal height :
does the rear compensate for any noticeable load applied (like your bodyweight) ?
- and does it in fact compensate back again if you jump out ?
If it does so within 30-60 seconds - all is fine.
(note : 60 seconds is reallly a long time waiting. You start to think the system does not work !)

I have exactly the same problem with my Xantia, but on the front suspension. I have changed LHM but problem remained. I will now try hydraflush. I believe the cause is dirty tubes and other suspension parts. I will let you know the results of the operation then.

Rostami,
Citroen doesn't sell it because it is not a very good company. [:(]
They do not have serious politics of training their mechanics (maybe in other countries it's different).
Citroen mechanics over here spoil more than they fix. It is very dangerous to live the car on their hands.
Most members on this forum could give lessons on HP suspension to them! [8D]

Well,
I am not at all surprised with what you say.
In Coimbra/Porto region citro is also a big MESS. What ever they touch, they ruin. Its a little fatalistic thing to say, but usually true...Fortunately I have a good friend who is an independant citro mechanic. Citro guys from all over the country normally call him for help!
