Xantia electric sunroof adjustment

Unread post by sbraud »

Hi,
My sunroof has developed two slight problems that I’d like sorted as summer is around the corner and the predicted `heat wave’ is on the way… [;)][:o)]
Two questions:
Does anyone know how to adjust roof ? I can’t see much on forum. Mine seems slightly loose on one side, so that when it’s closed you can push it up about 5mm. It’s not a big problem but whistles at speed.
Also seal around sunroof is weathered and starting to perish. Any good tips on revitalising seal or replacing.
Cheers

Your not the only one with issues on this on the wifes Activa will only let you use the sunroof if your lucky as it has jammed open a couple of times and with english weather its not worth the risk of using it!
Anyone with an understanding of these things imput would be much apresiated.

I don't know if this sounds daft, but on my Capri the sunroof has jammed open a couple of times. I remedy it by pulling the front lip of the sunroof downwards, and then keeping pressure downards on the roof from outside the car as I wind it forwards. I then leave well alone for a bloody long time! [:(!]
Don't know if it's possible on the Xantia but might be do-able if it does ever stick open again [:)]

I have had to pull the fuse on mine as it seens that both legs are not working together.
I have had the glass out a couple of times and it is not difficult all you need is an allen key & dry weather. The problem I have is the leg has 2 plastic dowel like bits which fit into groves but 1 keeps poping out & jaming the glass & even manual winding is not always successful.
Started to use the back windows for ventilation (electric windows are a great invention)

If a Xantia elec sunroof is stuck open, pull the motor housing cover (where the central locking/alarm sensor is) off and inside should be a tool to insert into the motor, and wind to close the sunroof (on my Xantia annyhow). Hope this helps.

Thanks guys,
I thought the subject of sunroofs might open a can of worms… if not the roof [:D][:D]
Luckily, mine works fine in both “pop-up” and “retract” but I was hoping someone knows how to “fine-tune” these babies, as I know from experience things can get in a mess if you’re a novice to the world of Sunroof, like me!!
Really need to know which screws/nuts/bolts can be adjusted, if any, to get roof how you want it.
Cheers
