Wrong spheres fitted

I have fitted the incorrect spheres to the rear of my Xantia! I have fitted the ‘Hydractive’ spheres and I’ve just found out that mine is the ‘non-Hydracive’. I blame the Hynes manual for confusing me, but actually it’s totally my own fault! The ride is pretty firm (similar to the flat spheres that I was replacing). Will having the wrong spheres on damage the car or can I ride around on them for a while before I fit the correct ones?

You'll basically have a hydractive Xantia for no extra cost [:D] (well, at the rear). You will have to be careful as the car will be more prone to oversteering.

I run hydropnumatic Citroens for comfort, if you want handling - buy something else.

Ok, so not a major problem then. I just need to fit Hydractive shperes to the front as well to ballance the cars handling?

If ride is uncomfortable you should consider put the right spheres.
Try to find the difference in pressure for hydractive and non-hydractive spheres, front and rear. Maybe those hydractive could go in the front and you could buy the right ones for the rear.

I wouldn't say it's uncomfortable, it's a bit bumby at low speeds but at higher speeds it's fine.

Sethy, you shouldn't waste money on HA spheres for the front.
Just get a set for the rear and enjoy the ride of a Citroën.
If you would put a set of HA on the front, you would have the handling of an HA2 Xantia, but one at permanent hard mode.
Get the right ones and try not to get into trouble until then[;)]
