306 1.9 xrd questions

Post by John306 »

Just purchased and have a few questions.
1993 L reg 5 door 306 XRD.
There is moss or lichen on the seals around sun roof etc, how can I remove this?
The only real rust appears to be the strips that go along the bottom of the windows /top of doors, is it easy/cheap to replace?
Front grille (above bumper) is cracked, is it easy to replace?
Usually central locking problems, is it a diy job to replace the loom...door to pillar.
Any advice would be appreciated.

to remove the moss from around the sunroof i would suggest taking to the local garage and giving the car a clean with a jet wash.
This removed the moss on mine.

Hey john.
I had electric window issues on my old pug... was the loom. Eventually (after many popped fuses and hours with the Multimeter), i got them working.
Good old peugeot, make all the wires black :-O !!!
Id say, best bet to souce each wire from within the door, etc, maybe someone else can clarify this?

I had a similar problem with the rear wind screen wiper not working due to broken wires caused by the boot being opened & closed.
I'd agree with Linchpin in saying that you need to trace each wire and find the defective one and repair it.
Also the plastic grill above the bumper is easy to replace.
