Fast ticking suspension pump? replace??

Xantia TD. Ticking about once a second, will replacing it sort it?

a better (cheaper!)first step is to put a new accumulator sphere on first.... that may be all it needs (around 20 quid from gsf )

hi johnt mpr1956 is corect what usuly is happening the gas in regulater/accumalater sphere has reduced so your regulater is cutting in and out because when the sphere has gas in it it is a damper each tick is reg switching on and off regards malcolm

As with the other replies, it does sound like the accumulator sphere is flat!! They are a cheap and easy item to replace and should be considered as a consumable item-do it quickly though, because it puts a lot more strain on the pump, as when the accumulator sphere can't supply the pressure for the system the pump has to do it all- thats why its ticking so quickly, the pump is having to work very hard to compensate.

If the same as the XM it can also result in the supply pipe splitting at the pump union
