Fitting seats with belt pretensioners.

Post by Foxy »

Hi, I suffer from a bad back after driving my 1996 1.9 T.D.ZX Avantge over 1 hour. I want to fit a volcane seat which gives the option of seat height adjustment and lumbar support, but the mechanic at the citroen main dealer said I ought to go for a similar seat with pretensioner attachments for the airbag wiring mechanism. As far as I can see the only similar seat is that out of a ZX SX, where there is no lumbar support but only height adjustment. If I fitted the volcane type of seat I guess the airbag system would have to be 'done away with'? and secondly does anyone know how good the SX height adjustable seats are for comfort? All advice gratefully receved. Thanks, Foxy.[8D]
