Xantia rear number plate

Hi all
just a quickie. Hows the rear number plate attached (and removed) from a 1995 Xantia hatch ?????
Is it just copious amounts of sticky pads, or something more sinister ? Whats the best way to take it off ? I need to replace mine, and have only got 48 hours to do it !!!!!

Lots of sticky pads.
Use some fishing twine or nylon line to slip behind the plate and slice through the sticky fixers. Gentle warming with a hairdryer first works wonders too.
Then clean off the excess black sticky bits before putting a new plate on - and warm the fixers on your new plate before sticking to the car - they will adhere better.

Sounds like that great friend of the precision engineer - double sided tape!
surprised it hasn't done the job for you itself already.
