Define "upgrade".
Lowering, Raising, stiffening, softening, increased/reduced damper rates could all be upgrades.

If you're using a kit, then this should be a reasoanably easy bolt-off & bolt-on modification. Be ready for siezed bolts (Squirt everything in wd40 / diesel fuel a couple of times a few day in advance) and make sure you can safely support the body of the car while doing the work. This means hydraulic jacks and axle stands.

Right Got a little prob its money so I thought of this..... How about fitting my aura with volcane shocks all round and at the front using the lowering springs from GSF, would this work and make a differnce to my cars looks (lowered ?)and handling?
And what parts do I need from GSF, I.E part numbers

Nah it would be far to time consuming and tedious to upgrade a ZX's suspension to *proper* suspension. All the piping, attaching hydraulic pumps, suspension cylinders etc, etc, etc...
Far easier to just buy a BX/CX/DS/GS/Xantia/SM if you want to upgrade.

?? ZX suspension isn't "hydraulic" (as in BX/CX/DS/GS/Xantia/SM hydraulic).

It isn't hydraulic, but you could make it hydraulic, now that would make it a proper Citroen.

The only ones I had difficulty with were the top bolts on the shock absorbers, make sure you wire brush the threads and lube them before you start.

Thanks for the replys.
I take it the volcane shocks will be ok with the lower springs?
Are the rear shocks on a volcane TD different to my Aura, Meaning in lengh?
List of parts are :-
N45552 SHOCK STRUT BQ FR LH ZX 1.9TD VOLCANE 32.50 Add
N45554 SHOCK STRUT BQ FR RH ZX 1.9TD VOLCANE
N45614 SHOCK ABS BQ RE ZX VOLCANE (NOT 16V) OIL (BOGE) 24.50
N99440 LOWERING SPR KIT ZX VOLCANE/AURA 91> *** 23.50
Thanks Twiss

I have just lowered the front of my Elation on Springs. It stiffens the ride without making it crash & bang.
I'd just go for the spring first & if you still want to go stiffer, but the shocks later on.
I'd like some adjustable rear shocks for min as there will be a bit of weight in the boot so could do with getting rid of the excess bounce.
As I say try just spring before you spend to much money.
I always wanted to play with BX/Xantia Hydro suspension on a ZX, it should be a relivitly easy swap, the pipes can be made & the rear suspension setup is similar, if not the same as other Citroens. The only ting I could really see a problem with was the front suspension towers would need modifing to accept the green sepehers
