drivers side lock wont work

my xantia 19tds is suffering the above, the remote dont work, yes changed battery, its knackered and they are too expensive. So in order to lock the whole car i have to lock the passenger door with the key so all locks are deployed, there doesnt seem to be any blockage in the lock, any ideas?

Happened to me.
It was simply a combination of wear and corrosion of the lock. It is possible to swop the passangers side to the drivers side or buy a new set of locks from gsf.
